God’s Life-Transforming Word
Helter Skelter Worship
As you continue to deal with the effects of a rainy season, be reminded of God’s life-transforming Word and the work that He wants to do in and through you. There comes a point when we’ve had enough rain, but my prayer is that when it comes to the Word of God, you can never get enough!
What is God's Glory?
Whether it is in a gothic cathedral, in the sanctuary at Christ the King, at our place of work, or at home with our family, may we worship the Lord in spirit and truth. When our eyes look up, may we see the face of our Savior, not a helter-skelter amusement ride.
God’s glory is a big deal in Scripture, and that makes it a big deal to us here at Desiring God. Over the years here are just a few ways Pastor John has described the importance of God’s glory.
Our Good Shepherd
What is so amazing about God? How about the intricacies of His creation from the macro to the micro? It’s so creative and orderly all at the same time.
Called by Name
As humiliating as it may be to admit, we are a lot like sheep. We make foolish decisions and without protection, we are easy prey. On our own, we can so easily become lost. Without the Good Shepherd as our guide, we are prone to follow the things of this world, thinking that they will fulfill our needs. The truth is that only Christ truly knows us and can meet all of our needs.
God called Israel. He called them by name. He called them redeemed. He called them chosen. He called them forgiven. You see, God does not call us to go to a place where He has not already been.
